Manchester United have ‘agreed the framework’ of a deal for Liam Delap, with all eyes now on the Ipswich striker who will decide his new team imminently.

United held further talks with Delap this week after informing Ipswich that they would agree to pay his £30 million (€35.5m) relegation release clause.

And ESPN have now confirmed that ‘the outline’ of personal terms have now been agreed with Delap’s representatives, allowing a deal to progress rapidly if the 22-year-old gives the green light to a move.

Delap has also held talks with Chelsea, Everton and Newcastle and the English youngster will now make the decision over which club he chooses to sign for this summer.

However, United are hoping for a quick resolution in order to continue their summer business after agreeing a deal to sign Wolves’ Matheus Cunha for his €75m release clause.

Ruben Amorim’s side are also said to be keen on a move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who will be allowed to leave for around €60m.

Which team will Liam Delap sign for this summer?

Delap will have a difficult choice to make over his future, having impressed in his debut campaign as a Premier League striker by netting 12 times for relegated Ipswich.

Some sources have suggested that Chelsea could be the frontrunners for Delap after qualifying for next season’s Champions League, with Enzo Maresca also having managed the striker as a youngster in Manchester City’s youth team.

Delap is also believed to have been impressed by Everton’s pitch to him, while Newcastle are hoping to convince the forward that he can co-exist alongside Alexander Isak in Eddie Howe’s side.

With Chelsea and United both desperate to sign a new striker this summer, both teams are expected to be the favourites to sign Delap as he seeks regular game time in the hopes of breaking into the England set-up before next summer’s World Cup.
